MASTER OF ARTS IN NURSING (MAN) PROGRAM
The master of Arts in Nursing Program is designed to address to develop nursing leaders, administrators and instructors who are well-prepared Christian and mature graduates who are fully responsive to the demands of their specialization in order to contribute to the progress of their community and the nursing profession.
The graduate program will assist in meeting the present and future demands for well-prepared professional nurses bringing the masters level in our regional area and beyond with our online/modular modes.]
GOAL/OBJECTIVES
The main goal of the MAN program is to prepare nurses who have completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree for building, as well as expanding their generalists’ preparation through leadership roles.
The MAN program seeks to:
-To appraise self growth and development through activities to enhance personal and professional contributing to their field of specialization and to the betterment of those they serve;
-To develop proficiency and effectiveness in a major field of nursing;
-To enhance their critical thinking regarding current problems and issues affecting the nursing profession and the health care delivery;
-To develop innovative measures in health care delivery services; and
-To enhance their skills on independent nursing practice.

Time Limit on Degree
-The student must complete the requirements for the degree within three (3) consecutive years after his comprehensive examination.
-A petition for an extension of time may be granted by the Dean but this requires refresher course of 6 units (Research and Statistics). The extension must not exceed one (1) year after taking the refresher course, otherwise for every semester extension the student will be required additional three (3) units refresher curse in the major course.
Academic Requirements:
Normally the curriculum for the Master’s Degree should contain a minimum of thirty-nine (39) units, distributed as follows:
Basic Course 12 units
Major Course 15 units
Cognates 6 units
Thesis 1 & 2 6 units
TOTAL 39 units
Admission Requirements:
To enroll, the applicant must:
-holds a BSN degree from an Institution of a recognized standing;
-a registered nurse;
-presently employed or employed for at least 6 months in any field of nursing.
-have taken the required examination (CGE) and have been personally interview
Submit the following documents:
a. original OTR
b. working permit from present employer
c. an affidavit for a full-time student duly notarized
d. marriage certificate (female students)
Foreign students must submit the following:
a. verified photocopy of student visa
b. verified photocopy of Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR)
c. eligibility for admission from the Commission on Higher Education Division (CHED, Manila)
d. permit to study
Graduates Requirements
Candidate must have:
-completed all the academic requirements
-passed the comprehensive examinations
-passed the final oral defense of his/her thesis
-recommended for graduation by the dean
-submitted the required number of final thesis copies duly endorsed by the adviser, the reading committee and approved by the panel of examiners.
-settled all financial obligations with Lorma Colleges
-applied for graduation
-submitted a duly accomplished clearance form
